Sizzle this summer with these 5 top trends
With the sun glaring down at us as if there is no tomorrow, it’s time your wardrobe gets a make over. Forget the heavy dresses and the enclosed shoes, summer brings in scope to relax and hit the town in a casual avatar. While the latest fashion shows have given us a lot to salivate over, there are 5 trends that have floored us so much that we can keep alternating among these styles throughout the season.
Go on and try these for anything — from night outs to girly lunches!
Wide Legged Pants - While the trend of palazzos has been around since last season, more interesting wide legged motifs have now come to dominate the fashion scene. Do not pair them with loose frilly longer tops; they look good with well-fitted tops or crop tops. The idea is to allow the lower silhouette dominate your look. As far as accessorising is concerned, a great pair of glares combined with a small charm on the wrist is just so right. Keep the makeup natural. We suggest some grey kohl and pink gloss. And that’s just it!
Sexy Overalls - Light, frisky and totally in trend, rock the summer with sexy overalls. The best part is; you can look chic and casual without making an effort. You can wear a full length dungarees or a real short one, depending on your mood and the occasion. Remember, because of the casualness of the dress, you need to step up your game when it comes to the blouse/top or you might look shoddy. For a lazy day at the beach, wear a bustier, a plain white tee for running errands, a silk top for a cocktail party and a tank top for a lunch date with your friends. For the shoes, a pair of sneakers or flat shoes work best for casual occasions and high heeled wedges or pointed heels for formal occasions. Focus on your eyes this season and play around with pop colours.
Floor length Maxis – No summer fashion is complete without a collection of maxi dresses in your wardrobe. Apart from being extremely versatile and fashionable, these are also very comfortable and flattering to all body types. Bohemian maxis are trending this summer. Wear a jacket or shrug over a maxi dress or a ganji or sleeveless top with your maxi skirt. Just remember, a fuller skirt needs a structured top. For the accessories, pick your style; there is absolutely no rules to it. However, bead necklaces, stacked bangles and feather earrings, and bags with tassels/fringes go with the look. Wear a floral tiara or just stick a flower in your hair, and you will look the ultimate hippie straight out of the 1970s. As for footwear, keep it simple and let your feet breathe; flat, wedges or gladiators.
Ruffled Lines - Ruffles are back and big time too. This summer go bold with a lower neckline and more ruffles! From dresses to tops and even shirts, ruffles have changed the fashion scene for now. Make sure you choose layered ruffles if you are on the plus side, while petite girls could go for delicate ruffles, may be at the sleeves or the hemline! Keep the makeup really light with focus only on the lips. Marsala or oxblood lips with a no makeup look for the face. Strut with confidence; that will work miracles.
Crop Tops With High-Waisted Bottoms - Odd combo at the first glance but if done right, it is worth a thousand bucks. Get a pair of denim, shorts or a pencil skirt (they need to be high-waisted) and pair them up with a lacy crop top. The right shoes here could be Roman flats or peep-toes. Bright fuchsia lips and some statement jewellery are so so right! Simply make sure you carry a cross-body; since the cool hands-free bag is all you need to make a style statement.
Whatever it is that you choose to wear this summer, make sure your hair is clean and skin loaded with sunscreen. After all, rocking summery fashion is all about coming across as radiant and uber gorgeous!
